New research from employee benefits provider Unum shows over half (56%) of U.S. workers, primarily Millennials and Gen Z, felt mentally unwell in the previous year. Additionally, 42% of employees said they needed to take time off from work to deal with their mental health.

Effective on the first day of August, SBA published a notice for a regulatory rule that announces the maximum allowable fixed interest rates for 7(a) guaranteed loans. The final rule “removed or revised various regulations governing the agency’s business loan programs that were considered obsolete, unnecessary, ineffective, or burdensome.”

ASE conducts many employee handbook reviews throughout the year. The first component of that review is to look at important and necessary compliance policy statements that should be in every employee handbook. Last month the Michigan Court of Appeals ruled against an employer that did not follow its employee handbook policies properly.
