Last week, Automation Alley was honored to receive $12 million in grant funding from Oakland and Macomb Counties to address the urgent need to move companies into the digital manufacturing age of Industry 4.0 as fast as possible to help improve our region’s manufacturing agility and response to COVID-19 and future disruptions. The Personal Protective Equipment Resilience Grant Program will position our region as an agile, digital-ready essential source of manufactured goods in times of national crisis while providing much-needed PPE for Oakland and Macomb Counties’ first responders, health care professionals and citizens.

MMA | $100 Million Available to Support Michigan Small Businesses in COVID-19 Recovery

$100 million in federal funding was approved yesterday for the Michigan Small Business Restart Program, which will provide grants to businesses with 50 or fewer employees working to recover from the COVID-19 crisis. Grants of up to $20,000 will be distributed through 15 local economic development organizations to small businesses, with an application period running from 7/15/20 through 8/5/20.

TROY, Mich.—June 30, 2020—Automation Alley, Michigan’s Industry 4.0 knowledge center and the World Economic Forum’s Advanced Manufacturing Hub (AMHUB) for North America, is the recipient of a $10 million grant from Oakland County and $2 million grant from Macomb County to help each  county’s manufacturing base purchase and implement Industry 4.0 technologies that can be used in direct support of manufacturing Personal Protection Equipment (PPE).

NASS Speaker Spotlight
MG. Mike Carey, USAF (Ret.) is CSO and Founder of Atlas Space Operations. Mike is responsible for ATLAS’ strategic development. Experienced with Air Force Satellite Control Network, Eastern/Western test ranges, and the Space Test and Training Range, Mike has the technical and political prowess to navigate the ever-expanding space markets. Mike holds a BA in History from the University of Central Florida, an MPA from the University of Oklahoma, and an MA in National Security and Strategic Studies from the Naval War College. 
 
North American Space Summit
The focus of MAMA’s North American Space Summit (NASS) is to provide an educational and networking forum for aerospace stakeholders from academia, government and commercial organizations.
The NASS is held each Fall in Traverse City, Michigan. The summit is held over two days with presentations and panels on Space industry issues, trends and technology.
