EAST LANSING, Mich.—(Oct. 19, 2023)—The Lansing Regional SmartZone (LRSZ) drove growth in the Greater Lansing region through its backing of 32 new companies and its support of 131 businesses in the last fiscal year, according to its new LRSZ Annual Impact Report. The LRSZ contributed to a thriving entrepreneurial ecosystem through these direct support services and through raising $4 million in private and public funds during the fiscal year that ran from July 1, 2022 to June 30, 2023.

“The tremendous successes spotlighted in our annual report have been years in the making,” said Ben Bakken, who serves as board chair of the Local Development Finance Authority, which oversees the LRSZ. “We’re incredibly grateful to our partners for helping us lay the groundwork for long-term success. The partnerships that continue to grow, along with new ones being formed, mean a better, more inclusive, and more sustainable future for the LRSZ.”
