Lansing Region Manufacturing Ecosystem Grows Stronger with Expansion of a Significant Supplier

DELTA TOWNSHIP, Mich. (Sept. 19, 2023) —Today, Lansing region manufacturer Midwest Press and Automation (MPA), announced it will add 20 new jobs and a 27,000-square-foot building expansion at its existing location in Delta Township, Michigan. Midwest Press and Automation is a solutions-based company, established in January 2010, offering services such as machine repair, electrical diagnosis/repair, mechanical engineering, and welding/brazing/fabricating, among other turnkey solutions. The new jobs and approximately $2.6M investment into the expansion will help Midwest Press obtain additional equipment to assist with the expanding business.

“MPA is thrilled to announce our plans for growth within Delta Township. The addition of 27,000 square feet of manufacturing space will help lead to the creation of new job opportunities.  After all - we're not just expanding our business; we're expanding our commitment to this industry and wonderful community,” said Tom Clark, managing member of Midwest Press and Automation.

MPA has experienced rapid growth in recent years, serving as an emergency service and repair to OEMs, providing custom-built machinery, and press-machinery-related support, and is on par to outgrow its current 58,000-square-foot building.

bobt“The Lansing region continues to be a great spot for investment, for growing companies like Midwest Press with a bright future,” said Bob Trezise, president and CEO of the Lansing Economic Area Partnership (LEAP) (left). “This project marks yet another victory for our mobility manufacturing ecosystem, providing further evidence that the Lansing region is a mobility hot spot now and for the future. Of course, projects like this are only possible because of great partners, especially Delta Township. Congratulations to all!”

To ensure this and future investment is made in the Lansing region, LEAP assisted MPA in accessing business development support programs to encourage the company’s investment in the region. MPA received a local Industrial Facilities Tax Exemption from Delta Township, approved at its September 18th board meeting, to expand its Delta Township facility at 2904 Snow Rd.

“We are excited to support the continued growth of Midwest Press and Automation here in Delta Township.  The approved Industrial Facilities Tax (IFT) Exemption will allow Midwest Press to construct a significant addition to their building and add 20 jobs.  The approval of the IFT by the Delta Township Board means the $2.6M investment in the business will go that much further.  We hope this project helps Midwest Press to continue to flourish in the Township for the next decade and beyond,” said Kenneth R. Fletcher, Delta Township supervisor.

MPA has grown to over 70 highly qualified employees since 2010, excelling with the ever-improving technologies of the industrial world to keep customers running in optimal shape. The company is actively seeking candidates to fill positions in the Lansing region. For more information about MPA, visit https://www.midwestpressandautomation.com/.
