The FCC’s net neutrality laws went into effect after a federal judge approved the introduction of the regulations over strong objections from cable and telecommunication companies.
Net neutrality is advocated by free internet advocates, and it would disallow telecommunications providers from charging higher fees for faster Internet service. Industry associations for the larger companies are filing multiple lawsuits against the FCC’s ruling on net neutrality. Net neutrality is here, but it might not be here to stay.
