IBM has issued the results of a report recently on ransomware and malicious insider attacks. IBM X-Force, the security team at IBM, has found that the top infection that is facing businesses today is simply unpatched vulnerabilities.
The best defense and the only way to mitigate risks of these attacks and vulnerabilities is having a robust and thorough backup and disaster recovery strategy. IBM has found that when they went to eliminate minor issues they discovered layers of additional vulnerabilities and highlighted that malicious insiders are a major concern for businesses today.
