Live Comedy Recording Comes to Lansing!

Comedian Jason Carlen returns to SBW. Jason has put together a live comedy recording “Whiskey and Silence” which is coming up July
31st at the Green Door in Lansing, Michigan. The show will also include opening acts Pat Jenkins, Pat Sievert, Dan Currie and Dan Roebuck! The doors open at 7PM, and the show begins with opening acts at 9PM! The show is FREE, but donations are always welcome! 

Not only is "Whiskey and Silence" set to record in lansing there will also be more comedy showcases returning to the area. You will soon find comedy at the Beer Grotto, and other local hot spots. Taylor shares a story about the “Ice House” comedy club in Pasadena, CA that is a local place, but over the years presented the likes of Jay Leno, Robin Williams, Eddie Murphy, and Jeff Dye who Taylor shouts out for his new summer series on NBC with Terry Bradshaw and Henry Winkler.

Carlen discusses his “day job” Jersey Giant Subs of Lansing which allowed him time off to come and promote his show at the Green Door. They also chat up Michigan comedians from Metro Melik Brown, to Lilly Tomlin and Keegan-Michael Key. Also the gofundme.com/whiskeyandsilence is up and running, so please check it out!

Carlen has acted in some of Michael’s films and there is a film in preproduction that they will work on soon. Taylor shares the opening of “Absolutely Fabulous”, starring its creator and writer Jennifer Saunders, and Joanna Lumley. The British comedy was first a long running BBC television hit that made its way across the pond to BBC America and found great success here too!

The last segment of the episode includes great news about indie film "Eskimo Brothers". Michael McCallum is being nominated as best actor in “Eskimo Brothers” in the Austin Revolution Film Festival, Austin, TX and is also up against veteran actor and former Screen Actors Guild president Ed Asher.
