LAFCU donates 8,137 meals to Greater Lansing Food Bank in support of WKAR Radio Spring Fundraiser

Partnership connects credit union, public radio with effort to fight hunger

LANSING, Mich. — LAFCU’s partnership with WKAR Radio during its Spring Fundraiser resulted in the credit union donating $2,712.50 – the equivalent of 8,137 meals – to Greater Lansing Food Bank (GLFB).

 

wkarFor each donation to WKAR Radio’s fundraising annual campaign, March 14-22, LAFCU pledged an incentive of $3.50 to GLFB. A $1 gift to GLFB supports three meals to individuals and families in need in Ingham, Eaton, Clinton, Shiawassee, Clare, Isabella and Gratiot counties.

“LAFCU’s donation to Greater Lansing Food Bank is a reflection of those in our community who support and understand the value of public radio in the Greater Lansing area,” said Patrick Spyke, LAFCU CEO. “We’re honored to help two important community organizations, which is in alignment with the credit union mission of ‘People Helping People.’”
