Sparrow Caregivers and the MDRT (Million Dollar Round Table) Foundation donated funds to purchase a baby mannequin that will be used by Medical Residents to practice lumbar punctures (taking fluid from the spine) on infants.
Lumbar punctures are used most often to diagnose meningitis but are also utilized for other medical purposes. Sparrow Caregivers held fundraising drives to raise their share of the money.
Sparrow Health System Residents this afternoon (Thursday July 25th) demonstrated how the mannequin will be used, along with a check presentation from MDRT. Please check out the slide show of some scenes from Sparrow of the event.
