WASHINGTON D.C. —U.S. Senators Debbie Stabenow (MI) and Gary Peters (MI) announced today that the Department of Transportation (DOT) will be awarding Jackson County Airport $2,200,000 to rehabilitate a 60-year-old air traffic control tower and improve cab equipment. These funds are from the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) grant program. Senators Stabenow and Peters secured these funds in the bipartisan Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act.

“Having reliable and safe air service is crucial for economic development, commerce, and tourism,” said Senator Stabenow. “This funding is another critical infrastructure investment coming to our state and will improve Jackson County Airport for years to come.”

“Michigan airports play a critical role in keeping communities and businesses connected to important markets and destinations,” said Senator Peters. “I’m pleased to welcome this grant for Jackson County Airport, which will help make necessary upgrades to critical infrastructure and allow Michiganders to travel safely and efficiently for years to come.”
