Jeffery Mosher welcomes back Tony Vernaci, Vice President - Global Business Development MEDC to talk about the recent announcements related to the new American Center for Mobility (ACM) at Willow Run.
- The ACM designation from the United States Department of Transportation affirms that Michigan is at the epicenter for all things mobility. With all of the talent, resources and vision to make it a reality well before any other place in the world.
- In the past few months alone, Michigan has made significant strides to solidify its status as the leader in autonomous technologies. We celebrated the official groundbreaking of the long-anticipated American Center for Mobility at Willow Run in Ypsilanti Township, which will serve as a state-of-the-art global center for testing, education and product development for connected and automated vehicles and future mobility.
- Just over one month ago, Gov. Snyder signed unprecedented legislation that clearly defines and establishes regulations for the testing, use and eventual sale of connected autonomous vehicle (CAV) technology.
- The American Center for Mobility represents a turning point for the automotive industry and technology, which will continue to play a key role in revolutionizing the global transportation landscape. With this designation, the USDOT clearly recognizes the role that ACM and the state of Michigan are playing in automotive innovation, and we at the MEDC look forward to new economic activity as a result.
