Michigan Business Network
March 19, 2020 7:00 AM

“The greatness of a community is most accurately measured by the compassionate actions of its members.” – Coretta Scott King

To our treasured friends and supporters,

Michigan Women Forward has been monitoring the rapidly changing coronavirus (COVID-19) situation, and we are mindful of its potential impact on our donors, sponsors, community partners and the entrepreneurs who rely on us for support. As of today, we plan to continue to serve all of our partners—both in the office and remotely.

Because of your commitment and investment in Michigan Women Forward as a donor, volunteer, and/or supporter, we want to keep you updated and informed about our decisions as we cope with these challenging circumstances.

Our first priority is your health and wellbeing. We are taking all reasonable steps to continue to serve women and girls in our state and also protect our community, staff and volunteers from this virus.

Therefore, we have decided to RESCHEDULE the following events.
As soon as we select dates for our postponed events, we will let you know.

March 19- HERstory Suffrage Panel Lansing

March 24- Women Will Series: Balancing Act with Build Institute is currently rescheduled for May 26

March 27- WomanUp and Learn Summit Detroit will be held in summer 2020

March 30- P100 Meet the Honorees West Michigan

April 23- WomanUp and Celebrate West Michigan Luncheon*

April 27- WomanUp and Celebrate Southeast Michigan Dinner*

*WomanUp and Celebrate is our largest fundraiser and keeps our organization running throughout the year. These events are essential for us to keep our lights on, our staff employed, and our programs helping women and girls in Michigan. We will continue to enthusiastically plan the luncheon and dinner and we are actively soliciting sponsorships and accepting donations for the events. We hope you will consider supporting MWF and these events with the understanding that they will happen at a later date.

We will all be remembered by how we respond in moments like these, and we’d like to be remembered as a community of women (and some very good men) who came together and supported one another. Our goal has always been women supporting women, and although we might not see each other as much or hug when we meet, our commitment is just as strong to ensure that all women survive this crisis.  Please keep up with our efforts and engage with us on our social media pages:
