Each year, College Access Advocacy Day is open to anyone who has a passion for college access and postsecondary attainment. In the past, participants have included school counselors, Local College Access Network coordinators and team members, higher education professionals, community-based organization leaders and staff, philanthropic leaders, and more.

Michigan College Access Network’s (MCAN) sixth annual College Access Advocacy Day provides an opportunity for anyone passionate about college access and success to meet with legislators and policymakers, and to rally around postsecondary attainment to demonstrate support for Sixty by 30. This event is a collaboration among MCAN, Michigan Association for College Admission Counseling, Michigan Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admissions Officers, Michigan Promise Zones Association and Michigan Student Financial Aid Association.

This portion of the day took place Tuesday, March 21 at 9 a.m. at Phoenix Building, Second Floor

222 N. Washington Square Lansing, MI.

As the leader in the state’s college access movement, MCAN works to improve the futures of Michigan’s students and communities by making college accessible to all. MCAN’s work centers on one main goal: To increase Michigan’s postsecondary educational attainment rate to 60% by 2030. MCAN engages partners statewide who are committed to systems-level change and the reduction of barriers to increase college readiness, participation, and completion rates, particularly among low-income students, first-generation college-going students, and students of color.
