MFEA | New Relief Funding Available to Michigan Small Businesses Impacted by COVID-19

Pure Michigan Small Business Relief Initiative to Provide $10 Million in COVID-19 Relief 
 
 
 
The Michigan Strategic Fund today approved a $10 million grant program to help meet the urgent needs of small businesses disproportionately impacted the COVID-19 virus. The Pure Michigan Small Business Relief Initiative will utilize federal CARES Act funding to award grants of up to $15,000 to small businesses across Michigan, with applications being available beginning December 15, 2020.
MEDC is also currently seeking grant administrators to ensure statewide coverage, with applications for administrators due at 1:00 p.m. on December 2, 2020.
 
 
 
Michiganders Encouraged to Shop, Eat and Stay Local this Holiday Season
 
 
The MEDC is urging Michiganders to shopeat and stay local this holiday season in support of Michigan’s workers, businesses and communities. Through the “Support Local” campaign, MEDC is encouraging Michiganders to do all they can to support their own downtowns and neighborhoods during the winter season as the state continues working to combat the ongoing spread of COVID-19.
 
 
Michigan Takes Center Stage on Wednesday’s Episode of Entrepreneur Elevator Pitch 
 
Michiganders are encouraged to tune in on Wednesday evening to watch a special Michigan-based episode of the Entrepreneur Elevator Pitch competition featuring startups from Ann Arbor, Grand Rapids, Traverse City and Lowell. During the episode, the four Michigan-based companies will have 60 seconds to give the rundown on their idea and encourage a panel of judges to invest in their company.
