Chris Holman welcomes back Carrie Rosingana, CEO, CAMW! Capital Area Michigan Works!, Lansing, MI, but serving Ingham, Eaton and Clinton Counties.

Watch Carrie and Chris discuss the November 1st event when CAMW! hosted Ultium Cells for a job fair, seeking employees for their launch phase.

THEME: Inspired by their recent hiring event, the Launch Team Job Fair, Carrie Rosingana discusses Ultium Cells and employment opportunities coming in the new year.

Question: Ultium Cells recently broke ground on its third battery cell manufacturing facility in Lansing MI,
tell me about the company and what they do?
 ● Ultium Cells is a joint venture between General Motors and LG Energy Solution focused on the future of the transportation industry.

● Ultium Cells create battery cells, an important step away from fossil fuels, and supply them to General Motors with plans to expand
to other automotive companies and industries. That includes rail, aerospace, heavy trucking and marine customers.

○ When finished, the facility will employ 1,700 people in new high-tech jobs by the end of the year in 2025.

Question: On Nov. 1, Ultium Cells and CAMW! hosted a hiring event, tell me about the types of jobs that were featured and the overall turnout?

● In partnership with Ultium Cells, CAMW! hosted the hiring event at the Lansing American Job Center.
The event focused on recruiting for supervisors, maintenance technicians and Engineers.

● Much like CAMW!’s Employer of the Day events, Ultium Cells conducted on-site interviews.

○ In total, 140 people attended the event. 77 of which interviewed.

Question: What can the Lansing community expect from Ultium Cells and CAMW! in the new year?

● Ultium Cells will continue to recruit for open positions at the new Lansing facility, so we recommend keeping an eye out for job postings.

● You can also expect to see Ultium Cells as event sponsors for numerous events throughout Lansing and East Lansing in the new year.

● Stayed tuned on CAMW!’s social channels for opportunities.
