Eaton County & Barry-Eaton District Health Department Launch Substance Use Survey

Focus groups scheduled to gather more information 

EATON COUNTY, MI – As part of its strategic planning initiative for substance use and misuse, Eaton County, in partnership with Barry-Eaton District Health Department (BEDHD), seeks input from county residents with experiences dealing with substance use.

The survey is open until April 13 for Eaton County residents, including those with a history of substance use or misuse, loved ones, providers, emergency responders, and the general community.

Gift cards are available to the first individuals who complete the survey (supply is limited). Visit https://msu.co1.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_enQkp3dlvaJyeKW to take the survey.

Additionally, Eaton County and BEDHD,  along with Michigan State University, are conducting public focus groups with specific groups of individuals. Registration is required, and individuals can register at https://doodle.com/sign-up-sheet/participate/272ca694-15e5-4e3d-820a-d241a2dac81a/selectAll focus groups will take place at the Delta Township Library, 5130 Davenport Drive, Lansing, MI 48917, as follows:

  • March 20: Providers focus group from 4 to 5:30 p.m.
  • March 25: Community organizations focus group from 3:30 to 5p.m.
  • March 25: Individuals with lived experiences focus group from 5:30 to 7p.m.
  • March 28: Public safety focus group from 1 to 2:30 p.m.

The Eaton County Board of Commissioners partnered with BEDHD on a strategic planning process. The process includes a report with recommendations on community needs to combat the opioid crisis. To learn more or get involved in the strategic planning effort, visit eatoncounty.org.
