Cinnaire recently announced the company has been recognized as one of the 2021 Best Nonprofits to Work For by the Nonprofit Times, the leading business publication for Nonprofit Management. This is the seventh time Cinnaire has received this honor.

The survey and award program is designed to identify, recognize and honor the best employers in the nonprofit industry, benefitting the industry’s economy, workforce and business. The Nonprofit Times partnered with Best Companies Group to identify nonprofit organizations where leaders have excelled in creating quality workplaces. The list is made up of 50 organizations.

“The last year has presented unique challenges and placed extraordinary demand on employees,” said Mark McDaniel, Cinnaire President & CEO. “As we transitioned to a remote work environment our team remained united in their passion for our mission, displaying a strength and commitment to our work I am very proud of. We celebrate a culture of diversity and inclusion at Cinnaire, and our success is driven by the unique backgrounds and skills each employee brings to our team. This awards celebrates our success in maintaining a staff-approved company culture and we are honored to once again be named a Best Nonprofit.”

Nonprofits from across the United States entered the two-part survey process to determine the Best Nonprofits to Work For. The first phase consisted of evaluating each organization’s workplace policies, practices, philosophy, systems, and demographics. The second part consisted of a confidential employee survey to measure the employee experience. Board members, investors, and partners provided insight to Best Companies Group to assist in analyzing Cinnaire’s workplace environment.

Cinnaire provides above-industry benefits, including unlimited personal time off, paid volunteer time, company cell phones, generous compensation packages, a profit-sharing plan, and a comprehensive benefits package. An open-door policy and lunches with the CEO promote transparency and establishes open communication. Cinnaire is committed to fostering and preserving a culture of diversity, inclusion, and fairness and to celebrating a workforce that reflects the communities the company serves. In 2020, following the tragic deaths of George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, Ahmaud Arbery, and the social justice movement that ignited, Cinnaire recommitted to fostering an environment of continual education and dialog on how to become more actively anti-racist. The Cinnaire staff engagement committee provides an open forum for generating and discussing ideas, initiatives, and insights that improve professional lives and company culture. In 2017, employees launched Cinnaire Cares, a companywide staff-funded and driven charitable program that provides every team member an opportunity to make an impact by donating to staff-nominated charities. The program has generated more than $70,000 to support 30 mission-driven organizations across Cinnaire’s footprint.
