OPENING “100K IDEAS STARTUP HUB” AND RE-OPENING “SHOPS ON SAGINAW”

Flint, MI, July 2023 – 100K Ideas has moved their operations to a new location in downtown Flint. Previously located in the Ferris Wheel building, the organization now resides in the Dryden Building, right next door. With this move, they are planning to expand their offerings to include re-opening “Shops on Saginaw”, as well as creating a new program called “100K Ideas Startup Hub”.

Shops on Saginaw, which was previously located on the first floor of the Dryden Building until August of 2022, is a consignment-style shop that allows entrepreneurs the opportunity to have a brick-and-mortar location to sell inventory. 100K Ideas has relaunched this initiative, creating an opportunity for local entrepreneurs and small businesses to have retail space without incurring upfront costs. 'Shops on Saginaw' will become more program-focused, to ensure all vendors are supported with the tools they need to be successful. If you are interested in becoming a vendor, you may apply using this link.

100K Ideas Startup Hub is a new micro-business resource center designed to support local small businesses and entrepreneurs. Through this program, 100K Ideas will provide resources including equipment, co-working space, meeting & conference rooms, printing, and more with the goal to help individuals in need of these resources but currently lack the funding to invest in them. Some of the equipment will include a photo studio/photo equipment, a computer lab with business software, and packaging material. In addition to equipment, 100K Ideas Startup Hub will also provide access to Flint’s entrepreneurial ecosystem partners and industry experts, who will be available to support members in need of their assistance. To gain access to this new space, interested participants can sign up for membership for a monthly fee of $29.99, with scholarship pricing available for those who qualify.

“Adding 100K Ideas Startup Hub and Shops on Saginaw to 100K Ideas’ programming was a natural fit,” says Brandee Cooke-Brown, Executive Director of 100K Ideas. “We have been brainstorming practical ways to support entrepreneurs and small businesses as they scale and work to become full-fledged businesses. To do this, we recognize the importance of ensuring they have a strong foundation early on, which will lead to greater success as they continue to grow and move forward. We believe the addition of these programs will aid in that success and help us continue our mission of relieving the innovator of the entrepreneurial burden.”

100K Ideas will host a grand opening on Tuesday, July 18th at the Dryden Building starting at 10 am. They welcome the public to attend and tour the space.
