(GAYLORD, MICHIGAN) –By the end of 2020 due to participation and generosity, Treetops Resort will have donated over $1 million to local Otsego County charities through the Pepsi Fall Invitational. The event which hosts 432 participants over three days and sells out well over 2 months in advance implemented special Covid-19 precautions this year. Assistant General Manager Kevin McKinley is proud of what his team accomplished, “this event is so meaningful to our resort, the participants, and most importantly the charities that we support, so I wanted to do everything in my power to be able to safely host the event. With staggered shotgun times, to go meals and the use of our expansive property, we were able to successfully reduce the chance for this large field to gather in one place.”
The event was a major success once again and the professionals and amateurs who played were thrilled to play in a large event after many charity events had to be cancelled early in 2020. There are not many events larger, so Treetops is excited to have a blueprint for running this event and others as we continue into 2021. The Pepsi Fall Charity Invitational is now 34 years old and has become the premier charity event in Michigan and arguably the entire Midwest. The event would not be possible without partnerships with the Pepsi Bottling Group and this year’s major sponsor One Up Web.
