Cinnaire Cares – Gaylord Strong

Gaylord, a small community in Northern Michigan, was recently devastated by a tornado. The 150-MPH EF-3 storm wreaked havoc across the region, destroying businesses and neighborhoods, and displacing individuals and families. Following the storm, the Boys and Girls Club of Alpena sprang into action, opening their gym as a local drop site for donations to support the efforts of the Otsego County United Way. Their team reached out to the Cinnaire Cares Emergency Fund with a request for support.

Cinnaire’s Resident Rental Relief Fund Provides Support to 450 Families

In January 2021, Cinnaire established the COVID-19 Resident Rental Relief Fund to provide support to renters throughout our footprint suffering from financial hardship due to the pandemic. Cinnaire contributed $250,000 and Delta Dental, the nation’s largest provider of dental benefits, provided a $250,000 contribution to support the COVID-19 Resident Rental Relief Fund. While eviction moratoria helped to keep people housed during the height of the pandemic, many low-income renters faced job loss and income reductions accruing large debts they were not able to repay without additional support.
