George Floyd’s death, the violence against the AAPI community, and the protests occurring nationally and internationally have renewed conversations about race in the United States. While many people and workplaces have been having these conversations and working to change policy for decades, many others are having these conversations for the first time.

Chris Holman caught up with Tammy Carnrike, COO of the Detroit Regional Chamber of Commerce in order to preview the highly anticipated annual event, the Mackinac Policy Conference (September 20-23, 2021). She talks about this year's Vision And Pillars For 2021: Reimagining A Healthy Michigan; a focus on health and safety.

The presidential administration’s policies on climate, the economy, racial equity, international relations, and trade all impact the auto industry. Workers’ and labor unions’ interests are central to nearly all of the President’s policies.

Shortly after he was elected, Biden pledged to be “the most pro-union president you’ve ever seen.” The first few weeks of his administration show he is working to keep that promise, and some of his policies could have implications for automakers and suppliers.
