During our active workdays it is easy to lose sight of how much need exists in our communities. The staff at MCDC realized this and decided to act.

Established in June 2018, the “MCDC Cares Program” was created by the employees to provide a means by which we can make a meaningful difference in the communities where we live and work. We raise funds through a variety of fun activities like jeans Monday, raffles, sports pools, etc. Each participating employee suggests a charity to be drawn at random to receive the funds accumulated for the quarter. The MCDC Board of Directors graciously approved match-funding the donations to double the benefit. To date the program has contributed over $3,400 to a variety of worthwhile causes (see below).

BBBS Executive Director-Rich Howard and MCDC President-Mark WilliamsPresident Mark Williams said, “I am extremely proud of the MCDC staff who came together to create this program and the Board of Directors who supported it. The hard-working team at MCDC impacts communities every day promoting economic development through financing for small businesses that create jobs. The MCDC Cares Program reaches another level in the communities, assisting organizations that carry out worthwhile endeavors and aid those in need”.

The MCDC staff also wishes to say, “Thank you!” to the many partners participating at our golf outing who made food and monetary contributions benefiting the Greater Lansing Food Bank. We look forward to continuing the efforts and making more contributions for years to come.
