Created by the SECURE Act in 2020, Pooled Employer Plans (PEPs) expand access to retirement plans for all workers by allowing employers from unrelated industries to join a pooled plan arrangement. Benefits to the adopting employers include increased administrative efficiencies, reduced fiduciary risk, and cost savings.

The Small Business Association of Michigan (SBAM) has teamed up with the best in the industry to bring our PEP to Michigan employers including:

  • Transamerica as our Recordkeeper
  • TAG Resources as our Pooled Plan Provider and TPA
  • Graystone Consulting – Farmington Hills, a business of Morgan Stanley as our 3(38) investment advisor
  • Your Registered Investment Advisor

SBAM’s PEP offers our members:

  1. Administrative Relief - As the PPP and 3(16) plan administrator, the SBAM PEP oversees the majority of day-to-day tasks.
  2. Reduced Liability - Fiduciary support and responsibility is assumed by the PEP team of administrators.
  3. Customized Plan Features - Ability for adopting employers to retain many of their customized plan features.
  4. Investment Support - Help with investment selections and oversight from our PEP team.
  5. Marketing - Ready-made plan support and communication tools.
  6. Time Savings - By offloading most fiduciary liabilities, you save valuable time.
  7. Cost savings - Since this is a group purchased plan, we have negotiated savings for startup and existing plans.
