Pure Michigan Business Connect offering up to $1 million in grants to manufacturers looking to retool and produce critical service supplies

Michigan’s small business manufacturers looking to produce critical health and human service supplies can now apply for up to $150,000 in grants through the Michigan Economic Development Corporation’s PMBC COVID-19 Emergency Access & Retooling Program. The newly launched grant program will provide up to $1 million in grants to Michigan’s manufacturers that can quickly and effectively retool and produce critical supplies in response to the COVID-19 outbreak.

New SBA loan to help businesses keep workforce employed during COVID-19 crisis

The U.S. Small Business Administration has launched the Paycheck Protection Program – loan designed to provide a direct incentive for small businesses to keep their workers on the payroll. Available through June 30, 2020, loans will be forgiven if all employees are kept on the payroll for eight weeks and the money is used for payroll, rent, mortgage interest, or utilities.

Join Thursday’s COVID-19 Tele-Town Hall with MEDC and the Detroit Regional Chamber

On Thursday, MEDC’s Chief Business Development Officer Josh Hundt will join the Detroit Regional Chamber for a panel discussion about the emerging Arsenal of Health in Michigan as manufacturing and medical device businesses are stepping up to support the fight against COVID-19.

It will also include a conversation about the ways in which businesses can connect directly with health and human service providers and municipal governments to provide critical supplies. The tele-town hall will conclude with a Q&A session for audience members to participate directly with the panelists and receive answers to their questions in real-time.
