Michigan's Mobility Ecosystem on Display in LA

The Michigan Economic Development Corporation (MEDC) and PlanetM joined industry professionals and policymakers in Los Angeles to lead the urban mobility discussion and tout the state of Michigan’s robust mobility ecosystem at two major industry events this month, CoMotion LA and Automobility LA at the LA Auto Show.

Representatives from PlanetM, the city of Detroit, and Detroit Mobility Lab led a variety of panels, workshops and match meetings between startups, corporates, and investors at the two mobility-focused events in Southern California. Sessions addressed core industry topics such as the unique collaboration opportunities between California and Michigan, the role of public-private partnerships in advancing mobility and solving the new mobility puzzle – all of which continued to position Michigan as a leader in the mobility space.

Key mobility companies and startups working in Michigan were also present at both events, including Waymo, May Mobility, Via, Moovit, Local Motors, Bollinger Motors, Continental Automotive and Ford X.

A special shout-out to PlanetM Mobility Grant recipient, Humanising Autonomy, on its recognition as the Automobility LA 2019 Top Ten Automotive Startups Competition Winner, and Xtelligent, who won the 2019 LA New Mobility Challenge at CoMotion LA.

CoMotion LA and Automobility LA at the LA Auto Show provided a collaborative and innovative environment for industry stakeholders to come together for the seamless exchange of insights and knowledge. Michigan’s strong presence in LA is a testament to the significant impact cross-country collaboration has on advancing future mobility solutions.
