Chris Holman speaks with Scott Norman, VP, Business Development, Physicians Health Plan about how the individual exchange open enrollment period is right around the corner and how a lot of small businesses are renewing their plans in the next few months.

With the changes to the ACA that were recently announced from Washington individual should be prepared for increases in costs – there are still discussions happening in Washington that may come up with a compromise solution that could lower costs for 2018; however, Physicians Health Plan are preparing to help individuals navigate the changes either way.

The employer sponsored health plan market continues to be stable – in particular, small employers should see relatively low increases and some may see decreases in 2018; really good news for employers looking to continue to offer benefits to attract & retain talent in Mid-Michigan. PHP has built a strong menu of options for small employers – in particular PHP offers an HMO Exclusive network in Mid-Michigan that can save employers over 20% from a traditional PPO plan. Navigating options available for both individuals and small employers is challenging but PHP is fortunate to have a number of excellent independent insurance agents in Mid-Michigan that do an outstanding job.
