LAFCU HQ Lobby Questions:

LAFCU just completed a significant renovation to the lobby of its headquarters at Marketplace Blvd. in Lansing. Congrats!

Tell me why you updated the space and how it will help LAFCU members.

What other businesses did you partner with to complete the renovation?

I was at the ribbon-cutting event LAFCU recently had. First please review some of the honored guests who were on hand that day?

A highlight inside was the wonderful LAFCU history wall. Tell me about that.

LAFCU holds ribbon cutting to celebrate the newly remodeled HQ lobby

The event was attended by community leaders, LAFCU members, staff and volunteers, Lansing Regional Chamber of Commerce

LANSING, Mich. — LAFCU hosted a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Aug. 31 to officially unveil the newly renovated lobby of its headquarters and West Lansing Branch, located at 106 N. Marketplace Blvd. in Lansing.

“The renovation was designed to offer an enhanced experience for LAFCU members,” said LAFCU CEO Patrick Spyke. “We wanted to expand the number of ATMs available and offer ITM and video functionality, while still providing exceptional in-person service. We also wanted to include and honor LAFCU’s past by incorporating a space that provides a visual journey of LAFCU’s 86-year history.”

The 9,632-square-foot space, designed by Lansing-based MAYOTTEgroup Architects and built by Dobie Construction, headquartered in Eagle, Michigan, was significantly renovated with LAFCU members in mind and enhances the member experience from arrival to departure.

“We looked all over – regionally, nationally — for the best companies to help us with this project, and we found them right here in Greater Lansing,” said Jeremy Sampson, vice president of facilities, LAFCU.

The result is a space that is both modern and timeless, complete with four ATM/ITM machines that enable virtual face-to-face banking, in-person member service representatives, and a wall commemorating LAFCU’s history since its founding in 1936. Visual Entities, headquartered in Wyoming, Michigan, created the history wall, which includes photos and detailed captions that pay tribute to LAFCU’s eight-decade history.

Before officially cutting the ribbon, LAFCU’s Patrick Spyke, Jeremy Sampson, and Kelli Ellsworth Etchison, chief marketing officer, and chief diversity officer, all thanked the project’s partners and event attendees, which included LAFCU members, staff, board members, and volunteers as well as community partners and dignitaries, state legislators and Lansing Regional Chamber of Commerce staff.

The event included lobby tours, LAFCU cookies from Quality Dairy, and a special appearance by LAFCU’s mascot, LAFF-E the Cow.

“This project is significant in that it adds ease of access and use while also bringing the most up-to-date technology to our members,” said Spyke. “We’re very excited about this new space and we invite LAFCU members and the community to come by and see it for themselves.”
