The COVID-19 crisis has touched every facet of society but has not changed the need for local business and governmental leaders to stay abreast of current trends and important public policy and economic issues. The Lansing Regional Chamber of Commerce (LRCC) will take advantage of modern technology, so local leaders stay connected during these challenging times.

For more than 30 years, the LRCC had led monthly roundtables for business, community and government leaders to share what is going on in their community. Those meetings will continue during April, using Zoom conferencing.

“Our role as the voice of business is more important than ever, especially during this time of uncertainty,” said Steve Japinga, LRCC vice president/public affairs. “By continuing to hold these important discussions, local leaders can share how they are coping and discuss ways they can support each other.”

Roundtable topics in April will include: current needs for businesses, communicating during the COVID-19 crisis, small business loan programs and how to support businesses throughout the region.

Starting April 1, the virtual gatherings will be held at 9 a.m. on Wednesdays and give the business and educational community, and elected officials a forum to connect and a new platform to provide updates on the current COVID-19 situation.
