Lansing 501

Lansing, Mich -- What do you get when you mix state government, a Big Ten university and entrepreneurial drive? Incredible career opportunities. Across Lansing, employers are driving change in high-demand industries like healthcare, manufacturing, insurance, financial services, and more.

To aid in talent attraction efforts, Lansing 5:01 has launched a new service to connect talent to hiring companies in the Lansing region. Aptly titled the Lansing 5:01 Resume Pack, the service aims to source resumes of talented candidates that are not already working full-time in the area, providing many of the region’s top employers with connections to talent across the country.

“Lansing is home to several large organizations that are consistently looking to bring more talent to our community,” said Lansing 5:01 Community Engagement Coordinator, Sadie Shattuck. “The Lansing 5:01 Resume Pack will connect employer partners of Lansing 5:01 with our vast network of professionals beyond the region.”

Talent looking to move to Lansing are encouraged to complete the Candidate Resume Submission Form to provide Lansing 5:01 with their resume and other demographic information. Biweekly, the resumes will be sent to many of the Lansing regions' premier employers, including Fortune 500 companies, nonprofits, and creative small businesses -- including hiring companies such as MSU Federal Credit Union, TechSmith, Lansing Board of Water and Light, and Potter Park Zoo.

“Our goal with the Lansing 5:01 Resume Pack is to create a direct pipeline for emerging professionals actively looking to move to Lansing to work for the regions’ top hiring employers,” said Christopher Sell, Lansing 5:01’s Executive Director. “The Lansing region offers candidates an enviable sense of place; affordable cost of living, rewarding careers, and dynamic entertainment opportunities that are worth putting roots down. This service sources highly educated and mobile talent -- some of whom might have ties to the area -- that is looking to call a place home.

Lansing 5:01 is a nonprofit organization that aims to retain and attract talent to the Lansing region. The organization, run by a board of professionals and volunteers who call Greater Lansing home, is committed to illustrating why Lansing is a dynamic post-graduation destination city, not only during the day, but starting at 5:01 p.m., too.
