Capital Comeback Returns with second of Two Events this Week of Thanksgiving going on this evening for Returning Talent and Job Seekers

Lansing, MI -- Lansing 5:01 will host the 5th annual Capital Comeback, bringing two opportunities for former Michiganders and current residents to rediscover Lansing and explore career opportunities in the Capital Region.

Capital Comeback connects former and current residents of the Lansing region with the live, work, and play opportunities for job seekers. Returning professionals will learn firsthand about the dynamic urban career and living opportunities in the reinvigorated capital region while getting the chance to network with many of the region's premier employers.

“The global pandemic has drastically changed the workplace, and as a result, the life employees are looking for,” said Christopher Sell, executive director of Lansing 5:01. “According to a Harris Poll survey, nearly 40 percent of urbanites were considering leaving large cities for less-crowded environments after the pandemic.”

“Lansing is a mid-sized city that offers the quality of life and affordability millennials and GenZ talent are looking for. The region has seen more than $3 billion in project investments in the last 10 years, with no signs of slowing down,” Sell continued.

The event will be hosted both virtually and in-person, in-person at Lansing Brewing Company on November 24 from 5:01 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Structured as a free, casual happy hour, attendees can experience the dynamic career and urban living opportunities Lansing offers while talking to employer representatives about current and future job openings. Participating employers for both events include Sparrow Health System, Delta Dental, Gillespie Group, Michigan State University Federal Credit Union, Michigan Farm Bureau Family of Companies, TechSmith, Jackson National Capital Area Michigan Works, Dewpoint, Michigan State University, George F. Eyde Family, State of Michigan Neogen Corporation, Eaton RESA, Lansing Economic Area Partnership (LEAP), Downtown Lansing Inc., People Matters, LLC and Niowave, Inc. For a full list of employers broken down based on participation at the virtual event vs. in-person, visit the registration pages for each event.
