LANSING, Mich. — LAFCU has promoted Amy Parker and Terri Carie. Parker is now vice president of finance, and Carie is vice president of card services.
In her new position, Amy Parker is responsible for the operations of the finance and accounting departments, including regulatory reporting, budget preparation and liquidity management as well as ongoing operational analysis. She succeeds recently retired Controller Don Killian.
“Amy’s depth of credit union experience and education as well as her dedication to our mission benefits LAFCU tremendously,” said Tammy McPherson, chief financial officer. “She’s the ideal choice to provide effective resource management that drives growth and better support of members, helping make LAFCU their ‘credit union for life.’”

She has worked in LAFCU’s accounting department for nine years, serving as accounting manager 2014-2017 and as assistant vice president of accounting since 2017. Joining LAFCU in 2006, she has also worked in data analytics, corporate education development and the contact center, and as head teller at the West Lansing Branch.
Parker holds the elite designation of Accredited ACH Professional (AAP) from the National Automated Clearing House Association, manager of the electronic movement of money and data that support deposits and payments in the U.S. and across international borders. She has also served on a national sub-committee of The Clearing House Payments Authority, a trade association that is the only U.S. private-sector automated clearing house (ACH) and wire operator. It processes about one-half of the country’s commercial ACH volume.
The Charter Township of DeWitt resident has a bachelor’s degree from Michigan State University, East Lansing, and an associate degree from Lansing Community College, Lansing.
As vice president of card services, Terri Carie is responsible for managing LAFCU’s credit and debit card portfolios, enhancing card programs and improving member experiences through technology and staff development.
“Since leading the card services department in 2015, Terri has improved processes, rolled out new products such as LAFCU’s ‘Vertical’ cards, and has effectively managed several vendor relationships – all of which have had a positive impact on our members,” said Jason Smith, chief lending officer.
Carie said, “I’m appreciative of management’s support that empowers my team to continually innovate card products and provide advanced card technology for the betterment of LAFCU members.”
The Eaton Rapids resident brings nearly 30 years of experience at credit unions to her new position. Before leading LAFCU’s card services department as assistant vice president, she was assistant branch manager of the credit union’s Owosso and Corunna branches. She joined LAFCU in 2013 as an employee of Centel Credit Union, Owosso, when the two credit unions merged.
