globalEDGE Business Beat | Michigan Export Growth Program 2019

globalEDGE Business Beat
June 12, 2019 12:00 PM

Tomas Hult MSUHosted by Tomas Hult, this segment of the globalEDGE Business Beat is an interview with Erkan Kocas who is an International Trade Specialist in the International Business Center in the Broad College of Business at Michigan State University. Erkan talks about the pro bono program that the International Business Center offers to Michigan companies to become more competitive in international exporting and trade.

The program is called the Michigan Export Growth Program, and is a collaboration between IBC, the State of Michigan, and the Michigan Economic Development Corporation. Within IBC, the program is a part of the US Department of Education grant that funds the Center for International Business Education and Research (CIBER) – a grant that Michigan State is only one of 15 universities in the country to receive. Erkan talks about MEGP and the activities, research, and programs offered. In the last year alone, this program helped Michigan companies achieve an additional $106 million in sales that otherwise would not have been possible.
