The Forbes Under 30 Detroit Hackathon: Accelerating Change is a month-long event that combines the creativity of the Forbes Under 30 community with the city of Detroit to creates solutions for a variety of challenges. 150+ participants making 12 teams of Under 30 members mentored by industry leaders meet virtually each week during June to create actionable tasks to tackle these issues, which concludes with presenting to Detroit city leaders. Below is a recap of the automotive results of Week 1:

Week 1 | June 4-7: Reimagining Supply Chains – Detroit is uniquely trying to offset the immediate implications of COVID-19 on the automotive industry, while simultaneously maintain its position as a leader in autonomous vehicles. The #DriveAmercasFuture initiative aims deploy an auto workforce armed with education, new skills and internet through compiling resource in a central hub, equipping buses with Wi-Fi and partnering with universities to prepare talent for industry disruption. Click here for the full automotive results and video recap.
