Douglas J Aveda Institutes Giving Back - JDRF, Curing Diabetes!

Michigan Business Beat
July 30, 2015 12:00 PM

Business Spotlight, PhilanthropyChris catches up with MBN partner, Scott Weaver, of Douglas J and a whole host of other great businesses. Scott shares a brief history of the 47 years since the first salon.

He also covers Walnut Hills, the golf course near East Lansing, and Copper, the restaurant at that site. The Douglas J. Aveda Institutes have branched out elsewhere in Michigan and to other states. Besides business, the Weaver family is all about giving back. For them it's also a longtime tradition. The participation with JDRF has a personal connection with Scott's daughter. They discuss the $35,000 raised, and look ahead to the August 1, 2015 walk.

Michigan Business Beat, hosted by Chris Holman, discusses economic development, new or unusual entrepreneurial initiatives, and successful business practices from different regions and industries around Michigan with a wide range of entrepreneurs and business leaders.
