Okemos, Michigan— Delta Dental of Michigan announced a grand opening party set for September 10 to celebrate the completion of a newly-renovated stretch of riverfront on the Grand River between Shiawassee Street and the Lansing Center.

Delta Dental hopes that this engaging centerpiece will make Lansing a high traffic area, bring economic energy to the Lansing community as well as draw, build and retain talent for years to come.

“This project represents so much more than one day. We’re investing in Lansing’s future and creating community spaces that engage our employees, clients and the community,” said Margaret Trimer, vice president of strategic partnerships for Delta Dental. “As a business leader, we’re always looking to energize Lansing so we can retain talent and build a strong workforce.”

On September 10 from 6 to 10 p.m. the public is invited to attend the grand opening ceremony. Attendees can enjoy cocktails, yard games, food trucks and live music at various stages along the riverfront park, including the HUB (Happening Under the Bridge) located under the Shiawassee Street Bridge.

Delta Dental, along with its family of companies including Dewpoint and Red Cedar investments, contributed a combined $390,000 to fund the Delta Dental Plaza, the Dewpoint Beach, and other aspects of the Lansing Riverfront that fall directly west of the Lansing City Market.
