Michigan high school seniors are encouraged to submit 1-page essay by March 31; scholarship not determined by academic performance

LANSING, Mich. — LAFCU is encouraging high school seniors across Michigan to submit a one-page, 500-word essay about the future of the workplace by March 31 as part of the credit union’s Write to Educate essay contest and a chance to win $20,000 in scholarships.

Winners will not be judged based on academic performance or financial need, and neither factor is considered in the selection process.

Four winners will be selected in mid-April, and each winner will receive a $5,000 scholarship toward an accredited college or university in the state of Michigan. As part of LAFCU’s mission of people helping people, the credit union will also donate $500 to a local nonprofit on behalf of each winner.

All Michigan high school seniors can enter regardless of whether they are members of LAFCU. Additional information, including submission rules and guidelines, is available online at www.lafcu.com/writetoeducate.

The Lansing State Journal is a community sponsor of the 2023 Write to Educate Essay Contest, and the four winning essays will be published in the mid-Michigan newspaper.LSJ
