Dave Heisey: Managing Personality Styles

Michigan Business Beat
October 19, 2018 8:00 AM

persoDave Heisey, a Michigan Crestcom Franchisee joins MBN's Jeffrey Mosher, for a monthly drop-by at the MBN studio to this time around, talk about how to manage all different types of personality styles.

Are there some people at work that you just seem to click with? While there are others where your discussions feel a little more difficult - not that you argue, necessarily, but just not as smooth and free flowing? Based on Myers-Briggs personality assessments (there are 16 types), there are several business tools available to assess personality style.

The most important aspect of these tools, from my perspective, is the communication preferences. Drivers, Expressives, Analyticals and Amiables have different approaches to how they communicate. As a leader, if you can adjust your style to suit the preferences of the person you’re dealing with, you’ll find an opportunity for more effective communications, and better teamwork.
