If you’re a leader in your organization, is your team generating more ideas on improving your operation than you can handle?  What if a portion of your time was spent prioritizing all those ideas and working on implementing continuous improvements to positively impact your company and your customers?  How much more effective would you be?

What’s interesting, is that the number one barrier to innovation in the workplace is……the boss.  That would be you!  If you aren’t careful in how you solicit your employees for ideas and how you express your reaction to those ideas, your employees may hesitate to provide them.

In addition to your approach with your team, there are other issues which can make innovation challenging for organizations.  Successfully prototyping ideas is critical to learn what works and what doesn’t, as quickly as possible.  To learn more about how to boost innovation on your team, listen to this segment on Michigan Business Network.

Michigan Business Beat, hosted by Chris Holman, discusses economic development, new or unusual entrepreneurial initiatives, and successful business practices from different regions and industries around Michigan with a wide range of entrepreneurs and business leaders.
