Cybersecurity Company to Establish Headquarters in Grand Rapids Area

VDA Labs to add 25 jobs, invest $300k in new high-tech lab and headquarters with MSF support

LANSING, Mich. – VDA Labs, LLCa full-scope cybersecurity company, is establishing its headquarters in the Grand Rapids area to create a central hub for its business practices, the Michigan Economic Development Corporation announced today. The project is expected to generate a capital investment of $300,000 and create 25 high-wage, high-tech jobs. Michigan was chosen over competing sites in Texas, Wisconsin and Pennsylvania.

“VDA Labs is helping to diversify Michigan’s economy and further establish Michigan as a leading state in cybersecurity job growth. It is thanks to many public and private partners that this project is taking place, and we are pleased to support that collaboration,” Mason said.

Vulnerability Discovery & Analysis (VDA) Labs, LLC, is a cyber company serving a diverse set of clients in Michigan, nationally and internationally. Projects include securing new tech in automobiles, conducting ethical hacking for companies to help them proactively fix bugs, monitoring alerts and conducting incident response in emergency situations, providing high-end security research for companies like Microsoft and more. The company also teaches classes in those domains privately and at major conferences.

VDA Labs is experiencing significant growth and expects to double the company’s current income. The new 3,000-square-foot location in Plainfield Township will house a lab and headquarters space, as well as room for product design and security review. As a result of the decision to expand and add jobs in Michigan, the company has been awarded a $75,000 Michigan Business Development Program performance-based grant from the Michigan Strategic Fund.

West Michigan economic development organization The Right Place worked in collaboration with VDA Labs and MEDC to ensure the company continued its growth in the region.
