LANSING, Mich. – Two business expansions that will generate a total of $4.1 million in private investment and create 89 jobs in Michigan have received support from the Michigan Strategic Fund, the Michigan Economic Development Corporation announced today.

“These projects will lead to new business growth and good jobs for Michigan residents,” said Jeff Mason, CEO, Michigan Economic Development Corporation, the state’s chief marketing and business attraction arm that administers programs and performs due diligence on behalf of the MSF.

“The decision by these two companies to not just expand, but relocate operations and a company headquarters to Michigan underscores our business-friendly environment and talented manufacturing workforce. We’re pleased to work with our local partners to support these investments,” he said.

Andronaco, Inc., founded in 1994 in the city of Kentwood, specializes in composites, valve systems, engineered products and specialty systems for the pharmaceutical, chemical, steel, wastewater, and energy markets. The company recently acquired Conley Composites, a fiber glass pipe manufacturer in Tulsa, Oklahoma, and is relocating those operations to Michigan. To accommodate the additional machinery and equipment, Andronaco plans to purchase and renovate an existing building in Kentwood. The project is expected to generate a total private investment of $3.3 million and create 64 jobs, resulting in a $320,000 Michigan Business Development Program performance-based grant. Michigan was chosen for the expansion over the site in Oklahoma.

Emabond Solutions, LLC, founded in 1968 and currently headquartered in Norwood, New Jersey, is a plastic bonding specialist with expertise in compounding and formulating specialty materials required for high performance plastic welding. Emabond serves diverse industry segments centered around the plastics industry. The company currently has a facility in the city of Auburn Hills that operates as its technical center. Emabond plans to relocate all of its New Jersey operations including its headquarters to its location in Auburn Hills. The expansion is expected to generate total private investment of $842,000 and create 25 jobs, resulting in a $153,000 Michigan Business Development Program performance-based grant. Michigan was chosen over the company’s current facility in New Jersey.
