Championship Level US Figure Skating Event Comes to Greater Lansing

Greater Lansing Sports Authority logoLANSING, Mich.— The Greater Lansing Sports Authority is pleased to announce the sixth championship level US Figure Skating event to come to Greater Lansing in the last 10 years, the 2020 Eastern Great Lakes Regional Singles and Midwestern Sectional Dance Challenge and 2020 EGL Non-Qualifying Competition. The event will be held at Suburban Ice East Lansing October 2-6, 2019.

This highly-anticipated qualifier event will draw 460 skaters and their coaches as well as family, fans, volunteers and over 70 officials to the Greater Lansing area for a five-day event.

Meghan Ziehmer“Greater Lansing has been proud to host numerous US Figure skating events in the past and this latest event is certainly no exception,” said Meghan Ziehmer, Associate Executive Director for the GLSA and competition chair for the event. “This is a high-profile national event featuring all levels of men’s and women’s competition, with athletes that have a real shot at competing at the Olympic level.”

Suburban Ice East Lansing is the headquarter facility for the event and the GLSA partnered with the Lansing Skating Club to bring the event to Greater Lansing. The event is open to spectators and competitions will occur from early morning to evening on each day of competition. Day passes are $10, free admission to children under 10 and Seniors (65+) just $5.00 After 5pm, all day passes are $5 – All event passes are $35 and $25 for Seniors.
