Michigan Business Beat
October 3, 2018 4:00 PM

IMG_7429Sparrow and the Ingham County Sheriff’s Office sponsored a community-wide Drug Disposal Day. Community members disposed of unused or expired medications, including opioids in a effort to address the opioid crisis. The unused or expired medications were disposed in containers monitored by the Sheriff’s Office.

As an outgrowth of Sparrow's collaboration with the Mayo Clinic, there are developing a standardized practice for managing and prescribing opioids and educating the public on their use. MBN was on hand to learn more from Ingham County Sheriff Scott Wriggelsworth and Sparrow Officials.
