When the Back to the Bricks® Executive Committee met to discuss this year’s Grand Marshall, the main topic that kept coming up was, who in our community is deserving of a much-needed “thank you” for all they have done in our community through the Pandemic? It was a very easy decision.

This year’s Official Grand Marshall is the honorable Dr. Bobby Mukkamala. The Board of Directors all unanimously agreed that Dr. Bobby played a huge role in making our event, and other events in our community possible to hold. This past year through the unprecedented times, the pandemic, Dr. Bobby stepped up and stepped out of his normal everyday life to truly help others. His dedication and innovation to create masks with his son in his lab, his educated wisdom throughout the COVID-19 pandemic to the Governor's Office, lawmakers, and physicians statewide was just the beginning.

He put his own needs and families' needs last. He dedicated his time and still does to make sure vaccines are available for our community. He supported and encouraged everyone, even led by example for all to get vaccinated, which in turn has lowered the curve, and allowed us to open back up and lower restrictions.

His is a true inspiration to us all. He is a true leader in this community and one that doesn't like the limelight but is very deserving of it. Please join us in congratulating Dr. Bobby Mukkamala.

Dr. Bobby will take part in the Ribbon Cutting at Factory One in Flint 4 pm on August 18th. Followed by a Rolling Cruise from Factory One to Grand Blanc High School where he will be received by the Grand Blanc Chamber of Commerce at their “Pit Stop” Cruise-In along the cruise route.

Dr. Bobby will also be at the Saturday Main Event Opening Ceremony as a Special Guest, August 21st at 10 am near the GM Statue Plaza in Downtown Flint on Saginaw Street.
