Flint, MI.  July 19, 2021 – The Flint River Watershed Coalition (FRWC) is hosting two exciting events in early August for a variety of family fun activities. Choose your own river adventure for the Flint River Flotilla ‘21 on Saturday, August 7th, and then rock out to ‘80s music and cars on the banks of the river at 80s in the Hole, on Friday, August 13th. Both events support the work of the Flint River Watershed Coalition and its mission to protect, promote, and improve the Flint River.

Flint River Flotilla: ‘Choose Your Own Adventure’ with the Corridor Alliance Chapter of the FRWC, in cooperation with Tenacity Brewing, as we host the 7th annual Flint River Flotilla ’21. We are back in-person this year, with extended launch times from 10 am-2 pm. Registration is $10 (free for those 12 & under) and includes shuttling, access to the kayak launch, a supported float, as well as the coveted 2021 Flotilla sticker. Life jackets are required for all participants. A Flint River Flotilla ‘21 shirt is also available.

Our 2021 “Expedition on the Flint,” is a choose-your-own-adventure theme, where participants may encounter river creatures, treasure, and a voyage to excitement. Adventurers who submit photos or videos of their float are entered to win awards for best costume or boat decoration. Registration and more information is available at www.frcalliance.org.

Flotilla ‘21 sponsors include presenting sponsors General Motors and their North American Engineering & Tooling Center/UAW Local 659, as well as Kettering University, Hurley Medical Center/Kohl’s, Mott Community College, Tenacity Brewing, Gazall Lewis Architects, The Walter, and Flint City T-Shirts.
