Amy ClicknerChris Holman talks with CEO Lake Superior Community Partnership (LSCP), Amy Clickner. They discuss how LSCP is navigating the COVID19 era and what the Upper Peninsula is doing for the gradual reopening of Michigan. Amy also is excited to share the announcement of her retirement for early next year, the transition and what that means for the organization, Marquette, and U.P. Economic Development.

Watch the full interview with Amy now!

During this interview Amy shares how it's great to see us (although only over video screen), Chris notes how she has always been a gracious host, and how he never stops thinking about the U.P. -- Amy says for those who live there it's U.P. Pride. During this COVID era they have not been infected to the degree of the cities but there is still an impact.

She believes their region is following the rules, and while as bleak March to May were things for the U.P. have been BRIGHT June to August 2020 with tourism up now over 2019.
The Upper Peninsula benefitting
from the travel restrictions where folks might not be flying to vacation destinations, however, the U.P is close enough but feels far away. Even more than repeat visits, people are staying and now working remotely from the U.P..

The job of her organization is making sure they have the tools the need to do the work,... LSCP helped to administer the $$$ out to relief for business in recent months, work with regional development on a recovery package for Marquette County and the rest of the U.P..

From here they are investing time into thinking about what's the next "retreat-and-restore" plans from crisis or pandemic.

Non-stop work, to make it,... and now after 24 years with the program, Amy evaluated circumstances and believes it's time for family and friends, so she will be retiring early next year.
