About Scott:
Scott D. Johnson serves as the Dean of the School of Management at the University of Michigan-Flint. Previous dean positions include Illinois State University and Minnesota State University, Mankato. Dean Johnson received a Ph.D. in Marketing from Michigan State University and an MBA and a BA from the University of Minnesota.
Research interests include word-of-mouth communication and recommendation-based decision making in the selection and evaluation of professional service providers. He has published in journals such as the Journal of Financial Planning, Journal of Education for Business, Journal of the Academy of Marketing Science, The International Executive, Journal of Advertising, and The CPA Journal.
He has taught MBA courses in the U.S., Hong Kong, and Athens. He has given numerous seminars in the area of customer, client and patient satisfaction. He had served as an expert witness in the area of trademark dilution and has served as a marketing consultant to a variety of companies. He is an active peer reviewer for AACSB International which is the accrediting body for business schools. He began his academic career as an Assistant Professor of Marketing at the University of Louisville. He worked in retail management prior to his academic career. He lives with his wife Mary Johnson and has four grown children. (from University website)
