Delta Dental of Michigan, Ohio, and Indiana CEO to retire in December

Okemos, Michigan—Laura Czelada, president and CEO of Delta Dental of Michigan, Ohio, and Indiana, will retire in December after successfully leading one of the largest dental benefit companies in the United States for six years.

Chief Operating Officer Goran Jurkovic was selected by the board of directors as Czelada’s successor, effective January 1, 2019. Jurkovic has been COO since 2016 and is responsible for business operations, administration and marketing.

Program encourages students to drink water, skip sugar-sweetened beverages

Okemos, Michigan—Sixty-one schools across Michigan will soon receive new water fountains/bottle filling stations, thanks to $200,000 in funding from the Delta Dental Foundation (DDF) and MESSA. In all, 95 water fountains/bottle filling stations will be installed.

The schools are winners of MESSA and DDF’s “Rethink Your Drink: Water’s Cool at School program,” designed to encourage children to drink more water during the school day. (The list of winners follows this press release.)

Okemos, Michigan — In 2017, the Delta Dental Foundation provided $3 million in financial support to organizations, programs and education institutions across Michigan, Ohio, Indiana and North Carolina that are dedicated to improving the oral and overall health of children and adults. “This past year we were able to increase access to dental care for those in need, provide oral health education to more people and fund more programs that are making a tangible difference in the communities we serve,” said Teri Battaglieri, Director for the Delta Dental Foundation. “In 2017, we were proud to provide funding for four clinics with 22 treatment chairs and put more than 14,000 dental sealants on children’s teeth.”
