Executive Director of Big Brothers Big Sisters Michigan Capital Region, Rich Howard, shares some big news with MBN’s Jeffrey Mosher. Rich is excited about Big Brother Big Sisters Roy C. Jackson Scholarship Program. The Program is set to help fund college for high school graduates that are involved in Big Brothers Big Sisters. “One of Big Brothers Big Sisters’ main goals is to help our littles with academic achievement and college-readiness,” Rich comments.  “Giving our high school graduates financial assistance is just another way to continue our mission to improve the lives of those involved in our program.”

Delta Dental Foundation Provides $3 Million to Improve Oral Health in 2017

Okemos, Michigan — In 2017, the Delta Dental Foundation provided $3 million in financial support to organizations, programs and education institutions across Michigan, Ohio, Indiana and North Carolina that are dedicated to improving the oral and overall health of children and adults. “This past year we were able to increase access to dental care for those in need, provide oral health education to more people and fund more programs that are making a tangible difference in the communities we serve,” said Teri Battaglieri, Director for the Delta Dental Foundation. “In 2017, we were proud to provide funding for four clinics with 22 treatment chairs and put more than 14,000 dental sealants on children’s teeth.”

Delta Dental Foundation Provides Third Round of Field Trip Grants

Okemos, Michigan — This winter 4,000 students across Michigan will learn about oral health by exploring the wonders of the human mouth at the interactive Chew on This! exhibit.

The Delta Dental Foundation (DDF) is providing $25,000 in field trip grants to allow roughly 166 Michigan elementary classrooms, grades pre-kindergarten to fourth grade, to visit the exhibit when it returns to Impression 5 Science Center in Lansing.
