$50,000 goal to win matching grant through MEDC’s Public Spaces Community Places initiative

 

LANSING, Mich. – The historic Hamtramck Stadium will be restored and updated for baseball, soccer, cricket and general community use through a new crowdfunding campaignthe Michigan Economic Development Corporation, Piast Institute and Friends of Historic Hamtramck Stadium announced today. The campaign is being offered through Michigan-based crowdfunding platform Patronicity.

If the campaign reaches its crowdfunding goal of $50,000 by April 2, the project will win a matching grant with funds made possible by MEDC’s Public Spaces Community Places program. For project details and to donate, please visit: patronicity.com/hhs.

Arsenal of Innovation event aims to connect local vendors to federal and military contracts 

DETROIT, Mich. – Detroit was the ninth stop today in a statewide tour to support Michigan defense-related businesses. The “Arsenal of Innovation” event aims to inform and assist Michigan companies that are interested in pursuing contracts with Department of Defense (DOD) and Department of Homeland Security (DHS). The event was hosted by the Michigan Defense Center, which is part of the Michigan Economic Development Corporation, and keynoted by U.S. Congresswoman Brenda Lawrence. The Michigan Defense Center will be hosting additional forums with Michigan's congressional members around the state in the coming months.
