Okemos, Michigan — As part of its “Rethink Your Drink campaign,” the Delta Dental Foundation has teamed up with MESSA for the “Water’s Cool at School” program, which will provide new drinking fountains for some Michigan schools.
The program is designed to ensure children drink enough water during the school day and avoid sugar-sweetened beverages. The Delta Dental Foundation and MESSA will commit $100,000 toward replacing and installing new water filling stations to schools across Michigan that apply and are selected for the program.
Okemos, Michigan — Elementary students from across Michigan will experience the wonders of the human mouth and learn about oral health at Delta Dental’s Chew on This! exhibit at the Ann Arbor Hands-On Museum.
The Delta Dental Foundation (DDF) committed $25,000 in field trip grants to pre-K to fourth grade classrooms, allowing about 5,000 students to visit the exhibit. This is the second round of field trip grants for the year and will total the DDF’s overall contribution to $45,000.
Delta Dental of Michigan, Ohio, and Indiana has pledged $75,000 to the American Red Cross to provide disaster relief services in communities affected by Hurricane Harvey.

LANSING, MI – The Delta Dental Foundation has awarded Sparrow a $400,000 grant to allow a two-year renewal and expansion of a first-in-the-nation research project that pinpoints how good oral healthcare can improve overall health.
The announcement continues the project first funded by the Delta Dental Foundation in 2015 that provided all Sparrow Hospital Patients with a higher-quality toothbrush, toothpaste with sodium bicarbonate, alcohol-free antiseptic mouthwash, and a suction toothbrush kit for those with difficulty swallowing or spitting.

Members of Lansing’s own National Premier Soccer League team, Lansing United, visited young Patients at the Sparrow Children’s Center. The athletes entertained and thrilled youngsters with their soccer skills and stories of playing top-flight competition.
The visit is part of the community service that has been a trademark of Lansing United since forming three years ago.
